highschool classes.

Almost everyone can agree that at one point in highschool there sitting in class and wonder "why am I learning this?" when am I ever going to use this in my future? and I can agree. I believe that there should be classes in highschool that are for what you want to persue when your older. For the most part you have an idea of what you want to be when your older. What you want to do and let's just say you want to go into a carrer that has not one thing to do with american history. why have to take a history class? If you have no interst in it what so every you should not be expected to take that course. If students got to take classes they were interested in maybe they would be more willing to be in that class participate and but their best effort into that class. Me personally if something doesn't interest me I don't pay attention. I'll tell you now there are a couple of classes that i think that I could have lived without. I just think that highschool should be like a prep for college to really start to persue what we want to do and not have to go through the pointless classes that students have no interest in. Bottom line, you should go to the classes that benifit you that interest you now what your required to take to be able to get your diploma at the end of your senior year.. highschool classes should be more about you!

ACT scores.

The ACT the test almost everyone dreads about taking just because they know how much it really counts. I feel like it shouldn't count as much as it does when colleges are looking to see weather or not your going to be able to attend their school. Kids might have had this dream to go to that school and worked hard and did everything that they could do but just didn' t get a high enough act score they then wouldn't be able to go to the school of their dreams because of it. Also, what if you have a student who has never really been a good test taker throughout high school they have a lesser chance of being able to go to whatever school they might want to all because they didn't get a certain score on the act. I think that the ACT should be maybe more of a placement of what classes and more of guidelines for the people of the university when helping the student. But, when it comes to them people able or not being able to go to a certain school I think that that could be a little bit much for just one test. Also, everyone should be required to take a ACT prep class to get the best results from everyone on this. All the test expectations should be the same throughout all universities and they need to base more about the person like what there like and what they have done for the community sports and their grades but, all those things should be more important that one test score that from what I hear can be pretty challenging. But, in the end my opinion is that yes, we all need to take the ACT but no it shouldn't be such a big part of what university you get into the person can be completely different from what shows up one their ACT score.

Cancer Awarness.

Cancer. An illness that effects family as well as friends for people of all ages. From lung, breast, mouth, skin as well as leukemia some people just dream of one thing and that would be to come out cancer free from there illiness to have just enough strength to get through the surgury the kemo therapy as well as the radiation. Now, some people may never understand the amount of pain that a person suffering fron this illness.  But, everyone can only imagine that it's the absolute last thing that anyone would ever want to go through. I understand there's many donations, foundations and money going toward the cancer reasearch to try and put a stop to this terrible disease but, wouldn't you think that there could be put a little more effort into the reasearch. Maybe the government who has the money to put towards reaseach should be giving the cause a little more attention instead of using it on the things that are in a sence unecessary. I believe that to have a strong opinion on this you have to have someone close to you suffer. I can honestly say I have had someone close to me suffer from this not only once but twice. A man that is innocent and really only looks for the best for his family from day to day went through an intense surgery followed by kemo and radiation to only have to turn around 4 months later and start that whole process over again. If maybe we found a vaccination or treatment that could prevent this from coming upon someone to begin with. Or even for someone to only have to go through this once a vaccination a treatment that will 100% make sure this will never have to be gone through for one person more than once will really change the outlook of cancer. Cancer is a terrible disease that has families everyday dealing with the question of if there close family member or even friend will ever be able to be cancer free again.
