red cups, highschool parties.
I have ONE mother and ONE father and my school teachers deans principals are not even close to being either my mother or father. High school parties should have nothing to do with the school and if anything should be an issue between parents and their kids. I don't think that the school should have anything to do with what goes on out of school weather there in sports clubs or involved in nothing in the school. Teachers are here to give you an education and deans and principals are here to take care of problems that happen IN school. Once the school day ends you should not be able to get in trouble for what you decide to do. If it becomes an issues that's why we have parents that will address and take care of the problem. You should not be able to be penalized for sports and activities due to the activities you do on the weekends or after schools. Let's be honest parties happen ALL THE TIME. and if a teacher or dean can tell me they never partied in high school. Don't believe it it's all a lie. High school parities is this little thing that the school decides to take way out of proportion and act like there are mom and dads when really you guys are nothing close to that. I think you should leave discipline for partying up to their PARENTS and not to teachers and deans.

Kylie,
ReplyDeleteI respect your opinion. It does make sense that the school should only concerned with what happens during the school day. But, you need to consider that not everyone has a mom and a dad. And not every mom and dad teaches their kids what is safe and legal behavior and what isn't. The job of a school is much more than just teaching you math, science, English and history. The school has taken on the role of guidance, counselor, and sometimes parent. The job of schools is to help teenagers become successful adults. That includes punishing kids for illegal behavior.
